About the Opportunity:

My client, a leading national contractor in the utilities infrastructure sector, is seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a major sewer pipeline project located west of Melbourne. This is a pivotal role on a high-profile project that forms part of critical wastewater infrastructure for the region's growing population.

Renowned for delivering complex civil and utilities works across Australia, my client is offering a long-term opportunity to join a high-performing team on a project that blends technical challenge, scale, and community impact.

Project Scope:

The project involves the construction of a large-diameter sewer pipeline, incorporating trenchless technologies, major civil works, and coordination with multiple stakeholders including local councils, authorities, and service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the full lifecycle delivery of the sewer pipeline project, ensuring performance targets for safety, time, cost, and quality are met.

Manage internal project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers across all phases of delivery.

Drive the development of construction programs, procurement strategies, and risk management plans.

Maintain strict compliance with environmental, safety, and quality frameworks.

Engage proactively with clients, regulators, and community stakeholders to support transparent and effective project communication.

Provide leadership and mentoring to site teams and engineers.

Candidate Profile:

The successful candidate will bring a proven background in civil infrastructure project management, with direct experience in sewer or water pipeline delivery. A strong command of project controls, contract administration, and construction methodologies is essential.

Key Requirements:

Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.

Minimum of 8 years' experience in civil construction, including significant project management responsibilities.

Demonstrated success in delivering complex pipeline or water infrastructure projects.

Excellent commercial acumen with experience managing contracts.

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
