One fixed vacancy for 6 months is available.

Selection will be made at the P3, AO7 or N5 level depending on the experience/qualifications of the successful applicant.

Provide leadership in Work, Health and Safety practices.

Ensure quality systems and processes are delivered in the Barkly region.

Relevant degree qualification in a health-related field.

Apply your sound knowledge of quality, risk and incident management techniques to ensure the delivery of high safe services and workplaces.

The Department of Health manages the Northern Territory public health system, operating as one system across 5 regions, providing the full spectrum of essential, quality health services, from health promotion to prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care across the life course.

Positioned within Tennant Creek Hospital (TCH), the Safety and Quality Unit ensures quality systems and processes are delivered, documented and monitored with the provision of support to staff to facilitate best practice and patients’ outcomes across the Barkly region.

As the Safety and Quality Manager your primary objective is to oversee and coordinate initiatives, projects and programs to ensure audit compliance with relevant NT Heath policies, protocols and relevant legislation.

Working collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Safety and Quality, you will provide leadership, supervision, mentorship and education to staff and students, and initiate, implement and complete research, continuous quality improvement and service development activities.

In addition, you will apply your sound knowledge and experience of quality, risk and incident management techniques with your well-developed project management skills to ensure compliance to work health and safety policies and procedures

To be successful, you require a tertiary qualification in a health or work, health and safety discipline and demonstrated awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture and proven experienced working effectively with patients and families / carers.
