The Clinical Practice Manager provides assistance to the CHH clinical team to achieve high quality health outcomes and ensures that decisions made on current and future models of care and service delivery are supported by best evidence and data. The position also assists in the coordination and management of the rural training and education programs that are hosted by Central Highlands Healthcare.

Core Responsibilities

Human Resources

· Preparation for recruitment and selection of clinical staff

· Onboarding of clinical staff including orientation and credentialling

· Managing medical officer contract arrangements

· Facilitating clinical system and electronic medical records access

Clinical Support

· Provide relevant data to support clinical decision making, health service planning and the generation of Board required clinical reports

· Provide advice on compliance with relevant legislation, regulatory and ethical matters relevant to the practice environment

· Fostering the development and testing of new and/or improved Models of Service Delivery and practice process initiatives

Financial

· Subject matter expert for Medical and Pharmaceutical Benefits Schemes and ensuring patient and workflows are aligned with Own Source Revenue optimisation.

· Procurement of clinical equipment, repairs and scheduled maintenance and replacement cycles

· Assisting to maintain clinical consumables impress system

Education and Training

· Liaising with universities in regard to student placement contracts and student flows

· Coordination of student movements, rosters, learning environment

· Assisting to manage placement performance outcomes and exit processes

Information Technology

· Maintain clinical systems used within practice in collaboration with contracted ICT service provided

· Procurement of new ICT equipment, manage maintenance schedules of existing equipment and troubleshooting as required

· Cybersecurity process and maintenance, review of Patient Information Sharing agreements with partner

Communication and Collaboration

· Ensure engagement of staff and stakeholders using sound communication and collaboration methodologies

Essential Skills:

Leadership and Management Abilities:

Demonstrated experience in clinical workforce management, including recruitment and selection, contract management, onboarding processes and supporting a positive workplace culture to improve staff retention rates

Experience in managing all aspects of student placements

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

Employing good communication with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals to promote workplace harmony.

Organizational and Planning Skills:

· Procurement of clinical equipment, repairs and scheduled maintenance and replacement cycles

· Assisting to maintain clinical consumables impress system

Support clinicians to effectively manage both human and material resources.

Skills in clinical data mining for the purpose of critical analysis by members of the leadership group and CHH Board as required under the Board reporting framework.

Skill in developing and implementing evaluation tools useful to assess new and existing models of service delivery

Financial Acumen:

Subject matter expert clinical budget management and billing mechanisms including comprehensive knowledge of the Medical Benefit Scheme

Understanding financial records and managing allocated budgets.

Support the clinicians to ensure systems and processes are in place to maximise clinical and commercial revenue generation opportunities whilst controlling expenditure to within budget guidelines

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making:

Identifying and resolving issues effectively.

Desirable Skills

· Understanding of recognised clinical education and training programs employed in rural and remote Australian settings
