Utilise your reliability and enthusiasm in the Administration Assistant role to provide organized and detail-oriented admin support.
About the Position
As the Administration Officer for the Northern Institute, you will be responsible for providing administration support to researchers and research projects as well as developing and implementing Northern Institute’s research events, marketing, and communications initiatives, under the direction of the Partnerships Coordinator.
The role requires a team player who can proactively engage with internal & external stakeholders and develop strong relationships to successfully promote the Northern Institute. Enthusiasm, accuracy, reliability, and the ability to prioritise are important skills in this role.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
- Completion or progress towards completion, of a relevant qualification at Advanced Diploma level with extensive relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education
- Demonstrated high-level communication skills, with the ability to foster positive and productive relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally
- A demonstrated understanding and capacity to communicate sensitively and effectively with stakeholders from culturally diverse communities, senior management, staff, and students through a customer-focused service.
- High-level computer literacy, including sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, Canva, Mailchimp, or other desktop publishing and photo and video editing software, with proven ability to produce effective print and digital materials.
- High level of organisational skills, time management and ability to manage competing priorities and to meet deadlines while working collaboratively with professional and academic colleagues.
- Gained experience in writing online content, updating web pages using Drupal, posting on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Bluesky, and LinkedIn, as well as creating in-house content and news stories.
Desirable Competencies:
- Experience providing multi-faceted administrative support within a university or research institution.
- Experience planning and managing in-person events/seminars and webinars
- Confidence in operating audio/visual technology and strong IT problem-solving skills.
- Possession of a current driver's license

Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Professional Employee Level 5. The base salary will be in the range of $73,502 - $84,914 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $85,997 - $99,349 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
