About the role
As a Teacher Disability at TAFE Gippsland, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of students by delivering high-quality vocational education and training in the disability sector. You will be responsible for designing, delivering and assessing accredited training that reflects current industry standards and student needs. With a focus on practical, industry-relevant skills, you will support learners to achieve their personal and professional goals.
This role involves engaging with diverse student groups and industry partners, maintaining accurate student records, contributing to continuous improvement, and staying current with compliance requirements and industry needs. You will be expected to contribute to the develop and deliver innovative learning materials, including online content, while fostering a positive, inclusive and empowering learning across campuses. This role is 3 days per week, with scheduled classes on Monday & Tuesday’s (3rd day is negotiable to suit your lifestyle).
About you
You are passionate and experienced educator or industry expert with a strong background in disability services and vocational training. You hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) or willingness to obtain if successful with support and mentoring, along with relevant qualifications in the disability field. With at least 3 years of industry experience, you bring both credibility and depth to your teaching practice.
Your approach to teaching is flexible, inclusive and student-centred. You are comfortable using digital platforms. You are highly organised, collaborative and thrive in a team environment. You are well-versed in compliance standards and dedicated to maintaining vocational currency and educational quality.
Your ability to support students from diverse backgrounds, build strong industry relationships, and contribute to the program development makes you are valuable asset to the TAFE Gippsland community and teaching team.
What you’ll need
Minimum Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent qualification
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent) or the willingness to obtain with support and mentoring
Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage learners of all ages and experience levels
Minimum 3 years industry experience.
