Are you passionate about helping others learn about Respect, Rights and Relationships. We’re looking for Peer Educators to join our team! This job is for people with cognitive and intellectual disabilities who want to make a difference. You will get an email with a full description of the job once you apply.
Job Details
Job Name: Peer Educator
Work: 15 hours across the week, usually across 2-3 working days per week
Pay: $43.16 per hour
Where: Across Gippsland and sometimes Melbourne
What You’ll Do
Team Meetings: Meet with the team every week to share ideas and plan.
Run Groups: Help present and lead sessions about relationships and respect to people who also have a cognitive or intellectual disability.
Positive Attitudes: Support people’s rights to have respectful relationships.
Help Connect People: Help people who need support get connected to services.
Talk and Share: Talk with the team about what’s going well and what could improve.
What Makes a Great Peer Educator?
Enjoy talking with people and working in a team.
Feel strongly about respectful relationships and support people of all genders and sexualities.
Know when to ask for help.
Be comfortable using simple technology like Zoom (we can teach you!).
Support You’ll Get
Training: You’ll get paid training on the job.
Help with the Rules: We’ll explain any workplace policies and how to follow them.
Supervision: Regular meetings with your supervisor to see how things are going.
Counselling Support: Free, confidential help if you need it.
