About your new role

We are seeking a Senior Asset Improvement Officer to support infrastructure asset data information. For the right candidate there is an opportunity for development to learn how to provide insightful asset information and enhance departmental asset information for whole of asset lifecycle reporting requirements.

This role involves developing and contributing to asset data improvement activities, managing the integrity of the city’s asset data, influencing and collaborating with business partners to provide a high-level of specialist expertise, support and advice. The successful candidate will be a natural facilitator and actively foster a culture focused on solutions, innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
• Solve business problems through data improvement solutions, collaborating with business partners, ensuring outcomes can be delivered.
• Identify asset data integrity issues to enhance the accuracy, completeness and consistency of asset data within our systems, working with the Asset Improvement Lead to prioritise data improvement activities.
• Assist in the review and continuous improvement of asset data management processes and practices in alignment with industry standards, including the development and implementation of procedures / work instructions in consultation with the Asset Information Team.
• Ensure asset data improvement activities comply with asset information and master data standards, including asset data management processes and controls.
• Extract asset data information from the city’s SAP asset register to analyse data sets and produce asset data reports using Excel and Power BI for presentation to business partners and senior leaders.
• Drive health, safety and well-being awareness and a culture of care within the team in alignment with the city’s high-performance principles.

Key Working Relationships
• Works closely with the Coordinator Asset Governance and Improvements and Coordinator Asset Data and Geospatial.
• Liaises and collaborates with embedded business partners, effectively communicating data information and insights as required to meet business needs.
• Will deliver excellent customer services in accordance with the City’s high-performance principles.

We're looking for people who have:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including a high level of attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across business areas
• Diploma in Asset Management or Equivalent Knowledge
• Diploma in Spatial Information Services or Equivalent Knowledge
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Asset Data Improvement, Geospatial or related discipline
