The Senior Director – Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment plays a critical leadership role in supporting ACT public schools with the implementation of system-wide approaches to curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment. Working under the strategic direction of the Executive Education Leader – Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment (EEL CPA), the Senior Director leads a team responsible for strengthening high-quality teaching and learning practices across schools.

As a senior leader within the Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment Team, the Senior Director is responsible for translating system reforms, programs and associated deliverables into practical, school focused implementation strategies. This role involves working closely with school leaders, teachers, and education stakeholders to build teacher capability, strengthen assessment literacy, and enhance student outcomes. The Senior Director will have a visible presence across all ACT public school contexts, supporting principals to adopt and embed system approaches and resources within their school. Reporting to the Executive Education Leader - Curriculum, Pedagogy and Assessment, the Senior Director will lead their team to contribute to system improvement efforts by ensuring schools receive targeted support to implement system-wide approaches to curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.

Eligibility/Other requirements

Mandatory

• Prior to commencing in this role a minimum of four years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification; a current full teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) (or eligibility for teacher registration with the ACT TQI) and a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. • Significant teaching experience and expertise P-12.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension up to two years. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
