Delivery Works Planner - Large Government Department
- $700 - $900 per day + super
- Chatswood Location + WFH (hybrid)
- 6 month contract + extensions
We are seeking an experienced Delivery Works Planner to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing and assessing project schedules and plans across the full project scope — from project inception through to operations. You will drive optimised program governance, ensuring projects and programs meet objectives, timelines, and budgets, while maintaining consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in scheduling across infrastructure delivery.
You will also be responsible for project planning and scheduling aligned to best practices, development of design and estimating program remits, as well as reviewing contractor programs to provide findings, proposals, and corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and administer construction schedules and plans, ensuring integration across multiple projects.
- Provide expertise in delay analysis, schedule risk analysis, and oversee performance and productivity reviews.
- Lead the creation of optimised delivery plans, including resource loading and management.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to align and optimise project delivery plans.
- Track actuals, forecast project schedules, and provide technical feedback on contractor and client schedules.
- Maintain schedule baselines and integrate revised and forecast schedules with accuracy.
- Drive performance assessment, time forecasting, and corrective actions on projects and programs.
- Enable cost forecasting and cashflow tracking to support delivery teams.
- Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, estimation, risk, and commercial teams to ensure consistency in planning and reporting.
- Support change management processes and maintain lessons learned and benchmarking data.
- Participate in post-project reviews to continuously improve planning and scheduling processes.
Success ProfileQualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in engineering, construction, project management, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- 10+ years’ experience in infrastructure, construction, or maintenance projects within project management, engineering, or controls disciplines.
- Extensive experience using Primavera P6 (10+ years) for project scheduling and control.
- Familiarity with project cost estimating, resourcing, tracking, and control.
- Knowledge of the construction industry and project delivery best practices.
- Hands-on experience with SAP or other enterprise-wide cost accounting systems (preferred).
Skills:
- Advanced Excel skills; Power BI reporting skills (preferred).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
