We are seeking a Senior Systems Accountant to become a key business partner and trusted expert within the Finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a tech-savvy accounting professional to play a pivotal role in improving and maintaining our financial systems and data integrity while supporting organisation-wide efficiency and decision-making.

The ideal candidate will be an accountant with a strong foundation in financial principles. They will also have experience working with financial systems including leading or contributing to system upgrades, integrations and improvements. To succeed in this role, they’ll need to confidently bridge technical system knowledge with practical financial insight.

Location: City of Melville Civic Centre

Salary: Up to $150,000 pro-rata p.a (depending on experience) + 12% super

Employment Type: Permanent, Full Time

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Senior Systems Accountant, you will be the subject matter expert across finance systems, primarily TechnologyOne Financials and work closely with internal stakeholders to:

Optimise and streamline business work processes, systems and applications

Support the development and delivery of data analytics, business modelling and Power BI reporting to inform strategic decision-making

Identify and implement system improvements that enhance business performance, data quality, and user experience

Provide support for period-end financial activities and assist with the City's Long-Term Financial Model

Deliver end-user training and ensure systems are utilised effectively and consistently across the organisation

Liaising with vendors and internal stakeholders to manage enhancements and ensure systems meet business needs

What We’re Looking For

Current National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one

CPA or CA qualification with demonstrated experience in a similar role

Strong system acumen with hands-on experience in ERP financial systems. Experience with TechnologyOne highly regarded

Proven track record in supporting and driving process improvements through systems

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a continuous improvement mindset

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across finance, IT and operational teams

Strong data interpretation and reporting skills, including proficiency in Power BI would be beneficial
