About the Role:
The People & Culture (P&O) Manager serves as a trusted business partner to the entire park, acting as a subject matter expert in many areas of HR, including training, talent, recruiting, record-keeping, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations and internal communications.
Ideal candidates will have superior social, communication, writing, and organizational skills, and have a natural talent for helping others!
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the People & Culture (P&O) team and any other assigned departments. Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all P&O positions and backfill these positions or help when needed
Manage all activities related to the employment life cycle for Raging Waters Sydney
Manage and control all financial aspects of assigned departments while maximizing revenue and cost savings opportunities; maintain constant vigilance over departmental labor budgets
Professionally and legally represent Raging Waters Sydney to ensure continued compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws
Drive end to end recruitment and interviewing initiatives throughout the season
Schedule team member orientations and ensure all team members complete the required onboarding activities. Ensure all documentation and record keeping is kept up to date
Assist with the coordination and execution of exciting team member events
Assist with data entry into Workday, Smartsheet, SharePoint and Learning systems
Review and track compliance with work permits for minors
Develop efficient and effective methods of communication to reach the employee population, leveraging marketing resources to assist with methodology and delivery
Investigate and resolve employee concerns, keeping leadership and related parties informed throughout the process
Administer disciplinary actions to team members, as required
Execute voluntary and involuntary terminations, as needed
Coach and counsel leadership to effectively address employee performance and provide guidance for legally defensible resolutions
Assist with processing HR paperwork, employee transactions, and terminations
Assist employees with Workday and Quinyx navigation and password resets
Assist with scheduling departments using workforce management platform, Quinyx
Coordinate with First Aid to ensure any team member injuries are logged with insurance and followed up
Ensure compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe and productive environment for colleagues and guests.
Purchase all required uniforms and garments for each season by seeking out vendors for the best quality and price
Manage the end-to-end process of workers’ compensation claims, ensuring compliance, timely reporting, and effective support for injured team members.
Coordinate and oversee the International Lifeguard Program, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and housing needs for overseas team members.
All other duties assigned by leadership
Education & Work Experience:
Minimum of 2-year of related work experience in HR highly desired.
College education preferred but equivalent work experience will also be considered
Previous experience with utilizing centralized scheduling or workforce management platforms highly desired
Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shift
Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
Ability to portray a positive, professional attitude
Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive employee data
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and persuasively with a wide range of diverse personnel and guests
Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point
Knowledge of Google Sheets or Smart Sheet, a plus
Ability to use office technology and equipment, such as PC, software, and copier
Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently
