About the role:
We are looking for an experienced, compassionate adult counsellor to join our RISE program. The RISE (Recovery, Individual Safety & Empowerment) program is delivered in partnership between Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) and Junction Support Services across the Ovens Murray region. The RISE Adult Counsellor position is employed and managed by Junction.
The RISE Adult Counsellor is responsible for providing therapeutic intervention to adults who have experienced family violence, using various modalities including individual counselling, brief intervention and therapeutic group work. The program focuses on addressing impacts of family violence to ensure people are safe, heal from their experiences of violence and develop resilience into the future. The role operates from an office-based and an outreach basis, which includes travel across the Ovens Murray region to provide service delivery to regional and rural communities.
Selection Criteria:
An appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline. Qualifications must align with the Mandatory Minimum Qualification Requirements for Specialist Family Violence Workers (Recommendation 209).
Demonstrated ability to undertake comprehensive psychosocial and relevant risk assessments with clients including relevant legislation underpinning these areas of practice.
Demonstrated experience in providing counselling and therapeutic support to adults.
Demonstrated knowledge of trauma, attachment and neurobiology frameworks and theories.
A solid understanding of family violence and the impacts upon people within a regional context.
