You are the kind of person who is interested in the differences between oat milk and almond milk in a blind taste test and intrigued by the impact a brand or pack can have on a consumers’ final experience.
You’re curious, meticulous, and a have an eye for the details others might overlook. You love diving into data but also enjoy the creative process of shaping products that people love. You’re just as comfortable running a sensory study as you are explaining the "why" behind the results to a client who’s ready to shake up the market.

T garage is a market research and strategy agency that helps brands design, test, and launch their innovations with confidence. You’ll collaborate closely with the wider team on everything from taste tests to big-picture strategy, contributing across sensory, qual, quant, and innovation projects.
We’re looking for people who bring sensory or consumer experience expertise but are also keen to jump into broader research at T garage and strategy work. You’ll be managing projects, collaborating with clients, and getting hands-on in our facilities and out in the world. What you'll be doing:
Leading or executing sensory research projects from proposal through to delivery
Designing research tools (proposals, questionnaires, discussion guides, etc.) that hit the mark
Running fieldwork, moderating, and helping with everything in between
Turning data into insights that make sense — and make an impact
Working across internal teams, clients, and fieldwork partners to deliver exceptional work.
Supporting and learning across wider qualitative and quantitative projects
You’re a great fit if you:
Have 3+ years’ experience in sensory research or similar
Come from a background in food science, nutrition, or consumer science, experience or insights
Know your way around qual and quant methods — or are open and eager to learn
Are confident managing multiple projects and deadlines
Communicate clearly, think critically, and never miss the details
Are full of initiative and up for whatever the day throws at you
Want to work somewhere that values flexibility, collaboration, and good humans
The details:
Location: Melbourne
Positions: Research Executive Level through to Senior Consultant
Start date: Approx. October
Salary: Range $80,000 - $115,000 (including super), depending on experience
Must have full working rights in Australia.
