GO Foundation Story
Integrity. Equality. Opportunity. Strength in Culture.
Founded by AFL legends Adam Goodes and Michael O’Loughlin, the GO Foundation was created to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people through education. We provide scholarships from primary school through to university that support students to learn, thrive and reach their full potential – while staying deeply connected to family, community and culture.
We walk together with our GO Scholars and their families, helping remove barriers and open doors to new opportunities. Learn more about our work at gofoundation.org.au.
About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and values-driven Scholarship Program Manager to join our high-impact Scholarships team. Reporting to the Head of Scholarships, this role is at the heart of everything we do – building trusted relationships with our students, families, schools and partners, and bringing our program to life.
You’ll be responsible for supporting our GO Scholars on their education journey, working closely with them to make sure they’re safe, supported and set up for success. You’ll plan and deliver key program elements, support student transitions, and connect them to the tools, resources and networks they need – in school and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
Be the day-to-day contact for GO Scholars, their families, schools and support networks
Deliver core program components, including cultural and aspirational support, and access to financial and educational resources
Build and maintain strong, culturally safe relationships with students and stakeholders
Support transitions from primary to high school and high school to university or work
Help design and deliver events like Culture Connect Days and partner engagements – this will include after hours work and some overnight travel to Canberra and Adelaide
Collaborate with team members and partners such as Studiosity to unlock opportunities for students
Support program planning, evaluation, policy development and reporting
Promote GO Foundation’s values through school visits, community events and strategic projects
About You
You’re a people person who builds deep, trusting relationships across cultures and communities
You’re driven by a commitment to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander excellence and self-determination
You’re solution-oriented and thrive in a dynamic, purpose-driven team
You value cultural identity, celebrate diversity, and bring your full self to work
You communicate clearly and with care – whether with young people, partners, or colleagues
You’re organised, proactive and ready to contribute to a growing organisation
You’re prepared to engage outside regular hours when our Scholars need us most
What You’ll Bring
Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage (this is an identified role under Section 14(d) of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act)
A tertiary qualification, lived experience, or equivalent in education, youth work, counselling, community engagement or similar
Experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students or working with families and schools
Strong stakeholder engagement and project coordination skills
Excellent communication skills and an understanding of the importance of cultural safety
A current Working with Children Check and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
Why Join GO?
Be part of a proudly Aboriginal-led organisation creating generational change through education
Work with inspiring students, families and communities across Australia
A supportive, flexible, and inclusive workplace where your voice and culture matter
Competitive salary with salary packaging benefits
Opportunities for learning, leadership and professional growth
Collaborate with amazing partners like the Sydney Swans, Studiosity, and others
