Vendor Governance Manager

Help keep the bank running - by keeping its critical Service Providers CPS 230-compliant.

Our client is a leading Australian financial services business. We are looking to recruit multiple Service Provider Governance Managers to join their newly formed team charged with ensuring Material Service Providers are governed effectively and in compliance line with the new APRA CPS 230 standard.

This is an exciting and diverse role for a governance, third party risk management (TPRM), supplier risk, operational resilience, vendor management or procurement professional to grow their career with a leading, employer of choice.

Our client’s team sits inside the operational resilience business unit and owns the rhythm that protects the bank from third-party failure. You’ll coach divisional service-owners, run the monthly governance drum-beat for their Material Service Providers (traditional and non-traditional, from BPO to payments and cloud), and make sure every one of them meets the new APRA CPS 230 standard.

What you’ll be doing

• Own the governance cycle – schedule and run monthly high-level governance forums for ~5 Material Service Providers, lock agendas, ensure attendees are briefed, collect governance inputs (e.g. monthly SLA reporting), monitor and track actions.
• Documentation of key plans – lead documentation of governance plan and contingency plans for ~5 Material Service Providers, collaborate with business stakeholders to draft, plus evidence of sustainability and performance controls.
• Coach stakeholders – prep service-owners and Service Providers so they know exactly what to present and why; translate policy into plain English guidance.
• Spot and fix gaps – track risk-assessment actions and suggest process tweaks or improvements that lift the whole framework, drive compliance and reduce risk for the organisation.
• Act as first call for CPS 230 clarity – be the go-to voice on what “good” looks like without getting dragged into daily vendor ops.

What you’ll bring

• 2 - 4 years’ experience in governance, third party risk management (TPRM), operational resilience, vendor management or procurement, ideally with Material Service Providers under APRA CPS 230 / 231
• Demonstrated prior work on risk assessments, BCP / contingency planning, sustainability metrics and supplier performance reporting.
• A collaborative and consultative style that wins trust and still holds people to account.
• Working knowledge of CPS 230 / CPS 231 and a track record you can talk through.
• A “helpful first” mindset - always looking for what’s best for the organisation and its customers.
