Energy Queensland
Posted 3 days ago
Your future is Energy Queensland:
Energy Queensland, and our operational brands: Energex, Ergon Energy Network, Ergon Retail and Yurika, are at the frontline of progress. As Australia’s largest government-owned electricity organisation, we serve people and communities across the state and beyond. Here, you’ll help us deliver reliable energy solutions for our two million customers.
Join us as a Senior Identity Domain Specialist, working as part of our newly formed Cyber Security Identity team, and amplify your impact. This is a permanent opportunity based at our Newstead Office in Brisbane.
About us – Energy Queensland’s Cyber Security Identity team:
As part of the wider Cyber Security team, we proactively manage, monitor, defend, and respond to threats targeting Energy Queensland's critical identity infrastructure. This includes both on-premises Active Directory Domain Services and cloud-based Microsoft Entra ID.
We focus on Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) and Privileged Access Management (PAM), using platforms such as SailPoint Identity Security Cloud and CyberArk Privileged Cloud. We lead the configuration, uplift, design, and day-to-day operations of these technologies, securing the full identity lifecycle – from onboarding to access reviews and privileged account management.
Operating under a Zero Trust framework, we implement and manage proactive security measures, ensure least-privilege access is controlled, and contribute our expertise to security-related events by enforcing configurations, conducting audits, and coordinating incident response to safeguard resources and maintain compliance.
Your opportunity:
As the Senior Identity Domain Specialist, you play a key role within the Domain stream of the team, working hands-on with identity governance and privileged access management.
You contribute to securing the full identity lifecycle by configuring, maintaining, and uplifting access solutions using platforms including SailPoint and CyberArk. Your work helps ensure least-privilege access is adequately controlled and governed across our complex digital environment.
Reporting to the Manager Cyber Security Identity, you take ownership of the ongoing development of EQL’s SailPoint Identity Security Cloud and CyberArk Privileged Cloud environments.
A typical day sees you:
- Leading the day-to-day management of SailPoint and CyberArk, including identity lifecycle operations, user access reviews, Segregation of Duties (SoD) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) policies, credential vaulting, session management, and just-in-time access.
- Monitoring the performance, health, and security of the IGA and PAM environments and addressing issues proactively.
- Taking the lead in identifying, investigating, and resolving identity-related incidents, and coordinating post-incident reviews.
- Designing and planning future-state identity solutions in collaboration with specialists and architects and contributing to strategic and operational roadmaps.
- Enforcing security configurations and procedures aligned to regulatory and organisational standards and contributing to security assessments and breach response activities.
- Providing technical leadership and mentoring the Identity Domain Specialist, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and development.
- Staying up to date with developments in SailPoint, CyberArk, and identity-related technologies like Microsoft Entra ID and sharing insights with the team.
- Collaborating with system vendors, project teams, General Managers, and digital staff to support operational delivery and uplift digital security policy.
Your total remuneration package starts from $205k (including a base salary of $179k + 14.75% super) for a 10-day fortnight. You also have the option of a 9-day fortnight, with a total remuneration package starting from $181k (including a base salary of $158k + 14.75% super).
