SoundBay (trading as Mannys Music and Store DJ) is Australia's leading retailer of Musical Instruments, Pro Audio, DJ, and Lighting Equipment. We operate 6 locations with attached storerooms across Australia, as well as a strong online presence and ecommerce platform, supported by a national logistics operation. We are a tight-knit team of music lovers with access to the latest and greatest musical equipment and expertise, in a business that continues to grow.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Consultant to work on a full-time basis in our Alexandria Store. Working in our Musical Instruments team, you must have availability to be rostered on the following times on a rotating basis. Our business operates Monday-Sunday, and you will be rostered across our operating days anytime between 8am-7pm.

Opening hours vary per store, but a typical workday is 9:45am to 6:15pm Monday to Friday, and 9:45am to 5:15pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

Regular Duties Include:

Provide extraordinary customer service that is friendly, positive, genuine, and knowledgeable, with a focus on achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.

Maintain high levels of communication with internal and external stakeholders

Managing all aspects of sales from planning & preparation, handling enquiries, consultation & building rapport, demonstration and product & service pitch, negotiations, closing sale and after sales support.

Active involvement in day-to-day store procedures

Working to individual and team goals, targets, and deadlines (financial or otherwise)

Participate and contribute to crew meetings, product training & professional development as required

Essential Skills and Experience Required:

Highly developed skills in sales and customer service

Retail experience

Must be available 7 days a week with flexibility

Experience as a musician, with practical knowledge of musical instruments.
