The Role
As the Manager Risk Management and Internal Audit, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of the agency’s risk management and internal audit functions. You’ll provide strategic advice on corporate governance and integrity, ensuring compliance with legislative and procedural requirements, and manage internal and external audit activity aligned with the NT Police Internal Audit Charter.
You will also serve as the executive officer to the Risk Management and Audit Committee playing a critical role in delivering agency-wide assurance through risk-informed decision-making and effective corporate governance support.
About you
You’re an experienced professional with the capability to drive risk-informed decision-making, influence senior leaders and promote best-practice audit and governance.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Demonstrated understanding or experience scoping, planning and undertaking internal audits, assessing and evaluating risks and business control practices.
Extensive knowledge and experience in applying risk management and integrity frameworks to identify and analyse risk, develop controls and evaluate effectiveness in a large, diverse organisation.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and verbal and written communication, skills with the ability to influence change and work with diverse stakeholders at various levels.
Experience conducting or coordinating audits, reviews, inspections, monitoring compliance, and developing reports and recommendations.
Ability to manage within whole of government legislation, standards and directions, working collaboratively to adopt risk treatments and monitor compliance.
