With a strong pipeline of commercial projects and a commitment to innovation, we are establishing a dedicated in-house architectural team to enhance design control and project delivery.

The Role:

We’re seeking a highly capable and experienced Architect (to be appointed as Principal Architect) with deep expertise in Commercial CDC projects (including Childcare DA), base-building design, and shop fit-outs. This is a pivotal role, reporting directly to the Director, and will be instrumental in shaping design direction, compliance, and consultant coordination across our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, design, develop, and manage architectural documentation for Complying Development Certificates (CDC) across commercial projects, including base building and fit-outs.

Apply strong knowledge of planning regulations to streamline approvals and reduce reliance on DAs.

Integrate planning controls into early-stage concept designs to ensure feasibility and alignment with approval pathways.

Take full ownership of NCC/BCA compliance, including fire separation, egress, and disability access requirements.

Proactively identify and address compliance risks, and recommend Performance Solutions where appropriate.

Collaborate with external consultants, certifiers, and planners to ensure cohesive and timely project outcomes.

Mentor junior team members in best practices for compliance, documentation, and consultant engagement.

Essential Skills & Experience

Minimum 6+ years of architectural experience, preferably in commercial or mixed-use developments.

Proven track record of delivering CDC-based commercial projects.

Excellent working knowledge of NCC, especially Sections C (fire), D (access/egress).

Strong design compliance and documentation skills – able to translate planning and code requirements into efficient designs.

Confident in coordinating with consultants and identifying when Performance Solutions are needed and how to initiate them.

Familiarity with local planning instruments (LEPs, DCPs) and SEPP Codes.

Registered Architect (NSW).
