Who we are:

Founded in 2019, WomenCAN Australia is a small not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping women reconnect to the workforce. Our vision is that all women can achieve financial independence. We specialise in supporting women by providing ‘peer support’ and connection to vocational training and employment opportunities in male-dominated and in-demand industries. We work closely with employers to effectively support women as they start their new careers. We operate a social enterprise WomenCAN Build ‘Facilities Maintenance’ with profits reinvested into our programs to create sustainable impact.

Your Job:

The Program Associate plays a key role in delivering the WomenCAN Work Program in Adelaide, supporting women in their employment journey by coordinating program activities, engaging with participants, and liaising with local partners. This will include the delivery of WCA’s unique peer support model ‘The Placement Circle’ which is a significant enabler to giving women the confidence, capability and connections to transition into employment via vocational training.

Funded by the Department of Social Services, Strong and Resilient Communities (DSS SARC) grant, over the next 12 months, the Program Associate will specifically support 34 women enter employment pathways in the transport sector – namely bus driving and short haul truck driving.

This role offers flexible work-from-home arrangements combined with community-based engagement. As the sole team member based in Adelaide, you’ll work independently on the ground while being closely supported by a passionate and collaborative team located across Victoria. The role involves regular travel across northern and southern Adelaide to engage participants and employers, attend community events, and build strong local partnerships. It’s ideal for someone who is self-motivated and enjoys a balance of remote work and being out in the community connecting with people.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Program Administration and Coordination: Support the delivery of the WomenCAN Work Program in Adelaide, ensuring smooth operations and positive participant experiences

Participant Engagement: Responsible for participant recruitment, individualised support and the delivery of The Placement Circle, peer support activities.

Stakeholder Liaison: Build and strengthen employer relationships, connect with local employment agencies and community organisations for referral pathways

About You:

Experience in program delivery and/or case management, preferably in a non-profit organisation or employment agency

Experience working in community with women from diverse backgrounds

Outstanding stakeholder management and communication skills to build relationships across diverse groups, including employers, community organizations, and program participants.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, and a non-judgemental attitude

Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams in other geographic locations.

Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
