About the role

We are looking for a talented and experienced Executive/Head Chef to join our team at Coogee Common, a popular restaurant in Coogee, Western Australia. As our Executive/Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, developing innovative menus, and leading a dedicated team of chefs to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our customers. This is a full-time position based in our Coogee restaurant.

What you'll be doing

Manage all aspects of the kitchen operation, including menu planning, recipe development, inventory management, and budgeting

Lead, train, and motivate a team of dedicated chefs and kitchen staff to ensure consistent high-quality food preparation and presentation

Develop and implement new menu items that showcase your culinary expertise and align with the restaurant's overall concept and brand

Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, as well as cost control measures

Foster a positive, collaborative, and efficient work environment in the kitchen

Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and customer satisfaction

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years of experience as an Executive/Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role

Proven track record of developing and implementing successful menus in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment

Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire your team

Strong knowledge of food trends, budgeting, and inventory management

Passion for using high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients to create delicious, visually appealing dishes

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with the front-of-house team

Ability to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
