Prime Steel Fabrications is a leading Commercial Fabrication Company based on the Gold Coast who has been operating for over 25 years. Our company undertakes projects right across Brisbane, Gold Coast through to Northern New South Wales within the commercial steel fabrication industry.

We require a full-time experienced steel/metalwork draftsperson with a degree in industrial engineering.

You'll work closely with our skilled engineers, fabricators, and project managers to produce detailed drawings and 3D models that shape everything from cutting-edge commercial fit-outs to large-scale structural installations. Key Roles and Responsibilities of the role include:

Accurately use Solidworks, Solidworks elecrical, solidworks animation, AutoCAD, Sketchup, NX11, NX11 mesh production to design and complete fabrication drawings, shop drawings and installation drawings within designated time frames, including cut lists.

Ability to accurately site measure projects

Schedule shop details to fit in with fabrications and site installation schedules

Ensure all drawings are accurately completed and issued to relevant departments and clients

Manage procurement procedures to ensure accurate and economical for company

Manage project variations and daily updates of drawings and client contract documentation

The successful candidate will have:

A degree in industrial engineering preferable.

The ability to introduce industrial engineering concepts to integrate within the design and engineering of environmental systems fabricated and designed by Prime Steel, desirable but not necessary.

3 years experience + using Solidworks, Solidworks elecrical, solidworks animation, AutoCAD, Sketchup, NX11, NX11 mesh

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience with drafting steel and metal works in 2d and 3d

Experience in reading and interpreting commercial architectural drawings

High attention to detail

A strong understanding and experience in the commercial construction industry

Experience with Microsoft office applications

Understanding of construction and integration of trades during the project

Exposure to and competent use of Qld Building Standards and regulations

The ability to communicate professionally, prioritise and meet deadlines
