Level 3 - $37.55 - $50.06 per hour (including Casual Loading)
The Role
Love the water, care about safety, and want to make a splash in your community? Join the Town as a Lifeguard and be a local hero every day!
Our Aquatics Team are looking for casual Lifeguards for the 2025/2026 summer of opportunity, with shifts available at the South Hedland Aquatic Centre and Gratwick Aquatic Centre. This is a flexible role, with early morning, midday, evening, and weekend shifts available.
Not qualified? Royal Life Saving Society WA have you covered and are holding fully funded training in July to get you trained to step into a Lifeguard role!
Please note there are prerequisites for the RLSWA Lifeguard Training, and you must be available on 12th & 13th July (First Aid) as well as 16th & 17th August (Lifeguard Practical Component). For more information, please check out www.royallifesavingwa.com.au
The responsibilities of a casual Lifeguard include:
- Providing safe and effective supervision of the swimming pools and aquatic features;
- Delivering a high level. of customer service and professionalism;
- Providing emergency response and first aid;
- Maintaining the facility in a safe, clean, hygienic and presentable condition for all customers to enjoy

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- Current RLSSWA Pool Lifeguard accreditation
- Current First Aid qualification
- Current CPR certification including use of oxygen and defibrillator
- Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
- National Police Clearance (or willing to obtain)
- Rights to work in Australia
