The Role

Love the water? Passionate about teaching and making a difference in the community? Look no further! We are currently seeking expressions of interest for casual Swim School Instructors for Term 3.

Not qualified as a Swim School Instructor? No worries - we have got you covered! Royal Life Saving Society of Western Australia are funding courses to become Austswim accredited.

The Town will even help you complete your required hours so you can get fully accredited and start making waves in your new role.

The next courses run on the below dates:

  • Fully funded 4-day course run by RLSSWA in October 2025, contact us for more information.

As Swim School Instructor you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in our community as you teach children from 6 months of age to adults, key life skills that can be applied to any aquatic environment.

The Swim School Instructor position is causal, and the hours are set by your availability.

  • Swim School runs Monday to Saturdays
  • Infant - Preschool (6 months to 4 years) lesson Monday to Thursday 9am to 12.30pm
  • Afterschool program (5 to 17 years) run from Monday to Friday 3pm to 6pm
  • Saturday morning lessons run 8.15am to 1pm

Work Related Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Willingness to obtain Austswim Certificate or equivalent "Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety"
  • Current CPR Qualification
  • Ability to obtain a Working with Children Check Card
  • National Police Clearance
  • Current 'C' class driver's license
  • Rights to work in Australia
