About Your Opportunity

McColl's currently has an exciting opportunity for a Data Analyst to join our Business Intelligence & Data team! This full time position is based at our Head Office in South Geelong.

The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex datasets to support strategic decision-making across the organization. This role is critical in identifying trends, forecasting outcomes, and providing actionable insights to improve business performance and operational efficiency.

About Your New Position

The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Collect, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar.

Conduct statistical analysis and predictive modeling to support business initiatives.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver insights.

Translate business requirements into technical specifications and analytical solutions.

Monitor data quality and implement data governance best practices.

Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Design and implement automated data pipelines and ETL processes to streamline data operations.

Perform root cause analysis on data anomalies and recommend corrective actions.

Support strategic planning by providing data-driven forecasts and scenario modeling.

Contribute to the development of data strategy and analytics roadmap.

Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve data analysis capabilities.

Train and mentor junior analysts or team members on data tools and best practices.

Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal security protocols.

Liaise with external vendors or partners for data integration and reporting requirements.

About You

To be successful you will bring the following skills and qualifications:

Essential

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, or a related field (CRICOS-registered institution for visa eligibility).

Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis tools.

Experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

Desirable

Master’s degree or Graduate Diploma in a relevant field.

Experience in cloud-based data environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).

Knowledge of machine learning techniques and tools.
