UI/UX Designer - Mark My Words

What you'll do

Own the product experience – From first click to deep-dive analytics, craft intuitive flows for teachers, students and content partners.

Turn complexity into clarity – Translate AI outputs, rubric scores and skill-tracking dashboards into designs that feel simple and empowering.

Design in the open – Run quick research cycles, prototype in Figma, validate with real educators and iterate fast.

Build the design system – Establish patterns, components and accessibility standards that scale across web and future mobile surfaces.

Work closely with the team – Pair with front-end engineers and our founder to ship features that delight (and move metrics).

Champion accessibility & inclusivity – Ensure every design works for diverse classrooms and complies with.

What you bring

3+ years designing B2B or SaaS products (bonus: EdTech or data-heavy tools)

A portfolio showing end-to-end product thinking—research, wireframes, polished UI and shipped results

Fluency with Figma (components, auto-layout, design tokens)

Comfort with basic front-end concepts (React component libraries, responsive grids)

Strong facilitation skills: can run user interviews, sketch workshops and remote testing sessions

Working knowledge of accessibility standards and designing for diverse users

Startup mindset: bias for action, able to juggle ambiguity, shipping > perfect

Nice-to-haves

Experience designing data visualisations or analytics dashboards

Familiarity with education workflows (teachers, LMSs)
