The opportunity

We are currently seeking an Associate Consultant to join our hygiene team based in our Perth office. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in occupational hygiene who enjoys task variety in their daily work, interacting and engaging with key stakeholders and is committed to continuous improvement and learning.

This role will play an integral part in delivering occupational hygiene services across a wide variety of industries, including mining, oil & gas, manufacturing, and government. You will assist in the planning, execution, and reporting of hygiene monitoring programs while building client relationships and developing your technical and consulting capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct occupational hygiene monitoring (e.g. dust, fibres, noise) across client sites

• Execute fieldwork using specialised equipment (up to 20kg)

• Assist with technical report writing and data analysis

• Support knowledge sharing across the team, mentoring junior staff when required

• Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

• Seek opportunities for ongoing learning and development

• Follow and contribute to the improvement of internal policies and procedures

About you

We’re looking for someone who is eager to learn, to take ownership of their work, and contribute to a high-performing team. You will have a developing technical understanding of occupational hygiene, with a professional attitude and a proactive approach to your work.

You will bring

Essential:

• Surface Ventilation Officer qualification

• DEMIRS Registered Sampler Number

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Sound knowledge of occupational hygiene sampling techniques

• Experience managing time, workload and competing priorities

• Provisional AIOH Membership

Desirable:

• Bachelor’s degree in science or related field

• Noise Officer certification

• Certificate IV in Project Management

• Working towards postgraduate studies in occupational hygiene
