The role:

Gather by Cater Care is seeking an experienced Functions Supervisor to join our team at our education site in Marion. This role is based at a prestigious private school within a brand-new facility. This is an exciting opportunity to take the first step toward a rewarding career.

In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering friendly, attentive, and efficient service to our students, while demonstrating strong organisational and leadership skills. You’ll help lead a large team that provides meals and manages events across multiple locations on the school campus.

Reporting to the Catering Manager, this is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be responsible for coordinating functions and supporting the overall operation of this dynamic, multi-functional catering service.

Roster: Full-time hours during school terms – 5/6 days per week.

The roster will vary based on business needs and will include evenings and occasional weekends, so flexibility is important. Opportunity to build up time in lieu through overtime worked during school holidays.

Key responsibilities:

• Organising and managing a range of functions
• Making sure the guests, students and staff have a great culinary experience
• Assisting rostering & managing a large team
• Assisting management of all food service operations
• Training staff and site compliance

• An all-rounder who can jump in & help in any area when required
• A commitment to team development & leadership
• Pride in personal hygiene & presentation
• RSA & Drivers Licence
• Chef qualifications are an advantage but not necessary
