Veterinary Receptionist Team Leader

We are on the lookout for a motivated and experienced Reception Team Leader to join Pets and Their People, a proudly independent veterinary group with two hospitals and one clinic across inner Adelaide.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on team collaboration while confidently guiding individuals. You’ll be working alongside our reception team, leading by example and actively mentoring staff to deliver exceptional client care. Your leadership will help drive team performance, foster a positive workplace, and ensure a consistent, high-quality experience for every client and their pet.

About the Role:

We’re seeking a confident and compassionate leader with a strong customer service background and a passion for building capable, empowered teams. This is a permanent part-time role, with the need for flexibility in the roster that includes early mornings, evenings, and occasionally weekends.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Extensive experience in a high-volume reception role, or customer service environment

(veterinary experience highly regarded)

• Strong mentoring mindset — you enjoy guiding others and supporting their development

• Excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone

• Ability to navigate difficult conversations with empathy and professionalism

• Confident in guiding a team through change and towards shared goals

• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

• Calm under pressure — able to juggle multiple tasks while staying composed

• A genuine love for animals and the people who care for them

• High emotional intelligence and the ability to make clients feel truly seen, heard, and valued
