We’re seeking a Finance Officer to take the lead on day-to-day financial operations, with flexible hours that support work-life balance. You’ll manage budgets, grants, payroll, and compliance — all while working in a collaborative, culturally respectful environment that supports the health and wellbeing of people and animals in remote Indigenous communities.
About Us
AMRRIC (Animal Management in Rural and Remote Indigenous Communities) is a national not-for-profit based on Larrakia Land in Darwin. We work in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to improve animal health, which in turn strengthens human health and community well-being. Our work spans veterinary programs, education and training, research, and advocacy.

Prepare for success: Support grant acquittals, audits and reporting
Collaborate with heart: Work cross-culturally and contribute to a values-aligned team
Make finance approachable: Help build understanding of financial systems across a non-finance audience
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll bring:
Solid experience in financial operations – including budgets, payroll, BAS, PAYG, super, and reporting
Confidence using Xero and a working knowledge of ACNC or other not-for-profit compliance
Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret financial data clearly
Great communication skills – especially when talking finance with non-finance colleagues
A respectful, collaborative approach to working across cultures and communities
It’s a bonus if you also have:
CPA/CA qualification or progress toward it
Experience with grant funding, acquittals, or NFP audit processes
Skills in data analysis or financial process improvement
Why join AMRRIC?
