Family Partnership Worker (FPW)

Position Overview

The Family Partnership Worker (FPW) is essential to the successful implementation of the Australian Family Partnership Program (AFPP). This role is responsible for maintaining high standards of community practise, ensuring the acceptance of the AFPP model, and adhering to the policies and guidelines set forth by the Primary Health Care Services.

Key Responsibilities

The Family Partnership Worker will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the strategic imperatives of KAMS by aligning with the organisation's strategic plan.
  • Delivering program services in accordance with the AFPP model, ensuring a client-centred approach.
  • Facilitating effective communication and collaboration with KAMS Member Services and external agencies.
  • Participating in reflective practise and providing ongoing support to clients and families, ensuring cultural sensitivity and understanding.
  • Engaging in quality improvement processes to enhance service delivery outcomes and maintaining compliance with health accreditation standards.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of experience, skills, and personal attributes that align with the mission of KAMS and the responsibilities of the FPW role. Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Experience in clinical practise or community health education programs.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families.
  • A strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, history, and the social determinants of health affecting Indigenous communities.
  • Capability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training and travel as necessary for professional development.

While you will face diverse new challenges in the role, you will also enjoy an attractive salary package including a base salary range of $78,679 - $89,647 plus super and a further host of benefits, including:

  • District Allowance $2,920 (single), $5,840 (with dependant)
  • Electricity allowance $1,440 p.a pro rata;
  • Accommodation allowance $13,000 p.a. pro rata;
  • Annual airfares subsidy to the value of $1,285 p.a. (after 12 months of service); and
  • 5 weeks annual leave p.a.;

The Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) was the first Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) established in the Kimberley in 1978, and was followed by the East Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Service (EKAMS, in Kununurra) in 1984.
