Position summary
Social Enterprise at the Cultura Northern Community Hub is a new initiative to pilot a Work Integrated model giving hands-on experience in workforce participation. The Social Enterprise Project Lead will be required to direct, initiate, and collaborate with participants, our funding partners, businesses and the wider Settlement and Community Services team. Primarily, the pilot is focused on setting up a sustainable sewing manufacturing hub with female participants from multicultural, new arrival backgrounds.
This position will be contracted on a maximum term part time basis, working 11.5 hours per week until 30 June 2026.
Duties
Set up sewing manufacture hub.
Recruit suitable participants.
Work with participants to set up microbusinesses and encourage their enrolment in ACFE related courses.
Provide ongoing mentoring support.Establish engagement processes to manage ongoing intake of new participants.
Collaborate with current and new businesses to deliver high quality products.
Assist with developing future funding opportunities.
Monitor and review project according to funding expectations.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Experience in working with new arrival communities.
- Experience in designing and delivering programs which are participant focused, and industry responsive.
- Highly developed organisational and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to work autonomously.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Qualifications in Community Service, Community Development, Business Development or related field.
Desirable
- Lived experience of settlement in a new country.
- Experience in operating small business, micro-enterprises, and/or social enterprises.
- Experience in textile manufacturing.
