An exciting opportunity for someone with strong knowledge and connections to the Nambucca Valley community to join the Uniting team on the whole of community Becoming U project.
Work Type: Part-time contract for 12 months
Hours: 20 hours per week | Flexible days and hours to be discussed
Pay: Base Pay + salary packaging benefits up to $18,550 (pay less tax) + 12% superannuation
Location: Nambucca, NSW

We're looking for a Community Connector to join our Becoming U program. You’ll play a key role in bringing communities together to improve the lives of children and young people, using community development principles and co-design frameworks.
Becoming U is a youth and community driven project working across the Nambucca Valley supporting cross-community collaboration and assisting young people to connect with and participate in opportunities that help unleash their potential and to thrive.
What you’ll do:
- Build trusted relationships across youth, community groups, and local services
- Map community aspirations, strengths, and needs
- Support youth- and community-led initiatives
- Facilitate inclusive community engagement and collective action
- Work closely with the Becoming U Lead to co-create strategies that matter
Qualifications:
- Candidates without a formal qualification will be considered, a relevant bachelor’s degree preferred
Essential Requirements and Experience:
- A current driver’s licence and WWCC
- Strong community engagement skills and trusted local connections
- Cultural competence, with experience working respectfully with diverse groups and Aboriginal communities
- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and analytical abilities
- A passion for social justice and the ability to build relationships and influence within complex environments
- Flexibility to work outside standard hours
Local residents of the Nambucca Valley with strong existing community connections are highly regarded and encouraged to apply.
