Aboriginal Identified Practitioner - Family Violence Services
Relocation opportunity to Melbourne Outer East Metro Region
We are seeking an Aboriginal Identified Practitioner to join the multidisciplinary team at The Orange Door in the Outer East Metropolitan Region. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide culturally safe intake, assessment, and planning to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals and families impacted by family violence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide culturally safe and trauma-informed intake, assessment, and planning for women, children, men, and families.
- Work collaboratively in a multi-agency team using a whole-of-family approach.
- Support victim/survivor safety and well-being while engaging perpetrators to address their behaviours.
- Participate in integrated risk assessment, planning, and referrals.
- Build strong connections with Aboriginal communities, stakeholders, and local service providers.
- Promote culturally informed practice within The Orange Door.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong knowledge of Aboriginal culture and values.
- Experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities, especially in case management.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (or willingness to work toward one).
- Ability to manage complex needs and risks using a holistic, family-centred lens.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of MARAM framework and information sharing schemes (FVISS/CISS) preferred.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence
- Working with Children Check
- National Police Check
- Willingness to complete MARAM training
