About the role:
The Senior Ethical Conduct Consultant contributes significantly to the state-wide implementation of the department's policies and strategies in relation to ethical standards and merit protection, particularly the Employee Complaints procedure, Merit Selection procedure, Culturally Responsive Framework and the Code of Ethics for the SA Public Sector.
This position provides high quality verbal and written advice to a wide range of departmental personnel and external agencies based on significant knowledge of relevant legislation and government and organisational policies and procedures. The Senior Ethical Conduct Consultant also has primary responsibility to undertake timely management of internal reviews and ensure, through comprehensive support and advice, that complaints are managed effectively and efficiently in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
The Senior Ethical Conduct Consultant works as a member of the Employee Management Team, who are responsible for maintaining accurate case records, monitoring data and developing targeted resources and delivering training based on that data. The Consultant must maintain a continuous improvement lens, ensuring relevant department policies, procedures, training and associated processes remain accessible, relevant and contemporary.
The team are required to maintain high levels of confidentiality, professionalism and ethical conduct. The work can be intensive, time pressured, challenging and at times politically sensitive - but as a supportive and engaging team, we achieve great things.
Qualifications:
Essential: Significant working experience in a related field.
Desirable: A relevant tertiary qualification.
Special conditions:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
