ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated person to work for Narang Bir-rong Aboriginal Corporation (Narang Bir-rong). Narang Bir-rong provides Family Support Services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Families in Western Sydney, Nepean Blue Mountains, Northern Sydney/Eastern Sydney/Sydney and connected communities as well as Out of Home Care placements for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people who cannot remain at home due to abuse and/or neglect.

The role is full-time (35hrs) and all roles are based at our Penrith office.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will ensure high quality support is provided to the Out of Home Care Casework Team. The team provides comprehensive assessment, support and casework service to the children and carers within the Out of Home Care program.

NBAC PAY SCALES (ABOVE AWARD WAGE)

Level 35-42

Total Package Value: $83,476.99 - $90,899.80 (Package includes leave loading and Superannuation, and is dependent on experience)

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Aboriginality is a genuine qualification under the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

Evidence of at least two COVID-19 Vaccinations.

Valid NSW driver's license and use of a registered and insured passenger vehicle.

Probity checks including a NSW Working With Children’s Check & National Police Check.

Experience or knowledge in child and family welfare and in foster care or a related area of alternate care for children is desirable, although not essential.

Knowledge of issues surrounding abuse and neglect of children and the impact of trauma and child protection.

Valued professional and general life experience.

Mature outlook and well-developed communication skills.

High level of oral and written communication skills and demonstrated use of Microsoft office programs including word, excel, PowerPoint, etc.
