38-hour week - Care Team Caseworker position working with Mob

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people in community, do you have experience and knowledge of child/youth development, child protection or family work.

Selection criteria

Aboriginality.

Understanding of the Child and Young Persons Care and Protection Act (1998), with particular knowledge of Out of Home Care legislation and Office of the Children's Guardian Out of Home Care Standards.

Understanding of Out of Home Care for Aboriginal children and young people, families and foster carers and in particular the unique difficulties/issues that arise.

Understanding of and/or experience in utilising and implementing Training Packages, information sessions and/or recruitment of Aboriginal Foster Carers.

Well-developed communication skills including oral, written and computer skills.

High-level Administration skills, including file and data management.

Proven ability to liaise with relevant government and non-government professionals, community groups, services and agencies in the provision and development of services.

Event planning and coordination skills

Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of Workplace Health and Safety, Equal Opportunity, Ethical practices and continuous quality improvement.

Ability to hold Working with Children Check employee clearance, satisfactory National Police Check and valid NSW Driver License.

Pre-employment probity checks will be conducted prior to any offer of employment including a National Criminal History Record Check with a satisfactory outcome

Two professional referee checks will be conducted including one with a recent supervisor.

It is a legislative requirement for all employees to hold an NSW Working with Children - Employee clearance.

Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010

Classification - Social and community services employee level 4 – pay point 1, Annual salary $85,122.44 Plus superannuation at 11.5% of ordinary time earnings (OTE).

You maybe required to undertake on-call duties for a one-week period on a rotating roster.
