About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Supervisor to lead the steel fabrication team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in a company that values teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and actively participate in a metal fabrication team, leading by example on the shop floor.
Schedule workloads, organise the factory, and drive product and process improvements.
Oversee materials management and liaise closely with the Factory Manager.
Ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping standards are met at all times.
Supervise tradespersons and train apprentices, ensuring efficient workflow and skill development.
Allocate jobs based on ability and priorities set at Factory Meetings.
Monitor and plan overtime, afternoon shifts, and Saturday work as required.
Maintain equipment, machinery, and jigs, and ensure all workstations are safe and productive.
Check and sign off on all jobs before they leave the fabrication area, ensuring quality and compliance.
Produce steel order sheets and report stock shortages to the Purchasing Officer and Supervisor.
Regularly review and improve working areas, and ensure all jobs are correctly identified and labelled.
About You
Trade background with solid engineering knowledge and manufacturing experience.
Proven experience supervising teams in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong leadership, planning, and organisational skills, with a focus on training and developing others.
Thorough understanding of work health and safety requirements, with a demonstrated track record of compliance.
Enthusiastic, reliable, and a true team player.
