Posted 7 days ago
Are you a NESA-accredited Primary Teacher with a passion for inquiry-rich learning, creativity, and authentic child-centred teaching?
We are representing an exclusive and highly regarded independent ELC–Grade 2 school in Sydney’s north to appoint a warm, switched-on Kindergarten Teacher for a six-month contract commencing Term 3, 2025, with the possibility of extension.
Why this role stands out:
Truly small class size of 17, co-taught with another full-time teacher and a full-time assistant.
High teacher-to-student ratios that far exceed most other independent schools.
Role based on the generous MEA award.
Meaningful professional development through workshops, planning days, and extra-curricular programs
Inquiry and creativity are embedded in the curriculum, not tacked on after.
Specialist-led programs including Mandarin, Music, PE, Dance, Code Camp, Chess, and Martial Arts.
Families and students described as one of the warmest, most collaborative cohorts in years!
Experienced leadership who actually support and care about staff wellbeing and voice
Stunning outdoor learning spaces and bespoke environments tailored for early learners
About the School
This independent preparatory school stands apart from the crowd with its commitment to relational, inquiry-led teaching and learning. Catering to children aged 3–8, the school integrates the NSW curriculum with immersive, authentic experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence.
Unlike many similar-sized P–2 schools, its high staff-to-student ratio ensures personalised attention and deep relational teaching. Learning is hands-on, open-ended, and thoughtfully designed to lead students to gain a rich understanding, not just correct answers.
The school culture honours children as capable and curious, and staff are empowered to nurture their passions, interests, and unique learning styles. Classrooms are beautifully resourced, the community is deeply supportive, and the school offers a high-trust, low-politics working environment where educators can thrive.
About you

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood (Birth to 8) or Primary Education
Ideally, 2+ years of classroom experience, particularly in Kindergarten or Stage 1
Strong working knowledge of the NSW K–2 curriculum

Strong verbal and written English
Team-oriented with a sense of humour, joy, and a passion for getting better every day
