This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a venue from day one - guiding the opening process, shaping the service culture, and leading a handpicked team in one of the city's most exciting new restaurant projects. Backed by an experienced hospitality group, the venue will offer a modern, produce-led menu with a strong focus on protein, wine, and exceptional yet approachable service.

The Role
As General Manager, you'll be responsible for all aspects of the venue's performance - from recruitment and training to guest experience, financial results, and compliance. You'll play a central role in shaping the venue's culture, standards, and reputation from the ground up, working closely with the Executive Chef and ownership team.

The role suits a leader who thrives on structure, values consistency, and leads with professionalism and calm energy.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all front-of-house operations and team management

Lead the pre-opening process including recruitment, onboarding, training, and systems setup

Drive a high-performing service culture focused on warmth, efficiency, and attention to detail

Manage rostering, compliance, cost controls, and venue presentation

Work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure strong BOH-FOH alignment

Build and manage guest relationships, reviews, and community reputation

Ensure high standards across service, cleanliness, safety, and professionalism

Monitor and report on financial performance, guest satisfaction, and operational KPIs

Collaborate with the group's owners and support office on broader strategy and performance



















About You

Experience as a General Manager or senior 2IC in a premium dining environment

Background in venue openings, new concepts, or relaunches highly valued

Solid understanding of front-of-house operations, guest service, and team dynamics

Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to build culture from the ground up

Comfortable working across financial reporting, labour controls, and licensing compliance

Committed to professional standards, hospitality values, and a hands-on style

Knowledge of modern wine and beverage service a plus
