Position Summary
The Accounts Payable Manager will lead the Accounts Payable (AP) function, overseeing the end-to-end AP process and ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reporting. This role is critical in maintaining strong supplier relationships, driving process improvements, ensuring compliance with internal controls, and supporting the broader finance team with strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable team
Oversee the end-to-end AP process, including invoice verification, coding, approval workflow, payment processing, and reconciliations
Manage supplier relationships and resolve payment or invoice issues in a timely and professional manner
Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in the AP function
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls
Collaborate closely with Procurement, Finance, and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
Manage weekly and monthly payment runs, including domestic and international payments
Prepare AP-related reports, KPIs, and cash flow forecasts as required
Support month-end close and audit processes related to payables
Train, mentor, and develop AP team members
Key Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Proven experience in managing an Accounts Payable function within a large, complex organisation
Prior experience in a financial services environment is highly regarded
Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive team performance and foster a positive culture
Excellent knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) and AP automation tools
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
High attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
