About the Role:
This is a full-time position, ideal for someone who thrives in a small team environment, has a sharp eye for detail, and brings solid experience in Xero bookkeeping and administrative support. Reporting directly to the Director, you'll be a key part of the team keeping our construction business running smoothly behind the scenes.
Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-day administrative duties
Management of compliance documentation and insurances within the construction industry
Liaising with key stakeholders including clients, staff, and contractors
General office administration and document management
Ad-hoc office duties
Office management
Day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero
Accounts payable and receivable
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Payroll processing, Payroll Tax, Child Support, and Superannuation
Reporting preparation including IAS, BAS, and TPAR
Invoicing, purchase order tracking and job costing
Liaising with External Accountant
Maintaining accurate records and up-to-date files
Requirements – What We're Looking For:
Minimum 2+ years’ bookkeeping experience (ideally within construction or trades)
Minimum 2+ years administration experience
Proven proficiency with Xero software (non-negotiable)
Solid understanding of payroll, GST, BAS, and financial reporting
Strong administrative and time management skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent written and verbal communication
Australian work rights
Desirable Qualities:
Prior experience in a construction, trades, or service-based business
Knowledge of job costing or project-based accounting
Familiarity with construction compliance admin (insurances, contracts, safety documentation)
Xero Certified
BAS Agent
Proficient with cloud-based tools and systems including Microsoft office suite
