JOB TITLE: Financial Controller

REPORTING TO: Group CFO, AGS General Manager

DIRECT REPORTS: Finance Team

JOB FUNCTION: Management of the Company’s financial system and risk management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting

- Produce accurate and timely financial and management information about the company’s financial performance and standing using KPI’s to enable effective decision making in support of the company’s goals and targets

- Work closely with the Group Financial and functional departments to provide information and support to improve the overall Group performance

Banking & Funding

- Negotiate banking facilities, manage relationships with financial institutions, and funding options for working capital or growth

Business Systems and Controls

- Develop and monitor all necessary controls and strategies to ensure the company complies with statutory requirements and ensure that excellent corporate governance is maintained through relevant policies and procedures

- Ensure all current systems are capable of supporting present and future business needs

- Create and maintain business systems to protect the intellectual property, confidential and commercially important information required to support the business direction and goals

- Create strategies to support the future direction and implement such strategies so they are effective and efficient

- Lead the implementation of automation tools to streamline reporting, reconciliation, and other financial processes, providing support to other managers where required

- Maintain company records in a safe and redeemable fashion to prevent loss or deterioration, and in compliance with statutory regulations.

- Lead, manage and coach all direct reports so they are appropriately motivated and trained to carry out their responsibilities to the required standard

Regulatory Compliance and Optimization

- Oversee all tax filings and ensure compliance with local and international tax regulations while identifying opportunities for tax efficiencies

- Monitor changes in financial regulations and accounting standards, assess their impact on the company, and recommend improvements to ensure compliance and enhance financial processes

- Act as the main point of contact for auditors, banks, external accountants and other relevant providers, ensuring all required information is passed across in a timely manner

- Ensure company secretarial duties are carried out in accordance with company needs

Financial Planning and Analysis

- Create the annual operating budget in conjunction with other managers and manage and report against these targets periodically to support business needs

- Develop and oversee financial forecasting models to support strategic planning and decision making

- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities, presenting actionable insights to senior management

- Coordinate the management of cash flow, debt and debt collection
