About The Role
As a Risk Analyst, you’ll play a key role in identifying, assessing, and monitoring operational risks related to people and property. This includes supporting the national risk assessment process, developing risk profiles, and ensuring compliance with Department of Home Affairs standards and legislative obligations.
Reporting to the Risk Manager, you will contribute to a consistent, high-quality approach to operational safety, ensuring that risk assessments are evidence-based, well-documented, and timely.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and support risk assessments for facilities, detainees, and transport operations.
Ensure risk inputs are comprehensive, current, and supported by intelligence and expert observations.
Draft reports, plans, and recommendations that align with MTC and Department of Home Affairs frameworks.
Assist in maintaining the national operational risk profile and contribute to broader risk analysis efforts.
Support compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures affecting operational safety.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure quality control of risk-related products and decisions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across operational sites.
To be successful you will:
Proven experience in a risk, security, or compliance-related function, ideally within immigration, corrections, or a similarly complex operational environment.
Strong understanding of operational and behavioural risk assessment principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality documentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant digital systems.
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Other Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain relevant police/security clearances
Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol testing, and any required health assessments
Must be double vaccinated against COVID-19
