Your next career opportunity
As the Design & Delivery Manager at the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC), you'll play a pivotal role in shaping Australia's digital research infrastructure. You'll lead a diverse team of program and project managers, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on project management. This role offers you the chance to drive national multi-partner programs, contribute to the ARDC's thematic Research Data Commons, and foster partnerships across the digital research ecosystem.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Team Leadership: Build and empower a high-performing team, fostering a culture of trust and open communication.
  • Strategic Resource Management: Plan and allocate resources to meet strategic focus areas, balancing workloads across the team.
  • Program/Project Management: Lead by example as a practitioner, contributing expertise to national digital research infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborative Strategy Delivery: Work closely with other managers and senior leadership to implement ARDC's strategic vision.

You may be a great fit if:

You are an experienced leader with a strong background in digital research infrastructure, possessing excellent strategic thinking, people management skills, and the ability to drive complex, large-scale projects in a diverse and dynamic environment.

You may also:

  • Hold a degree with subsequent relevant experience in digital research infrastructure.
  • Have specialist knowledge in areas such as data governance, informatics, or AI/ML, ideally in health, environment, or HASS disciplines.
  • Demonstrate strong strategic leadership and people management skills in diverse environments.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate across various institutions.
  • Have proven experience leading large-scale, complex programs/projects in digital research settings.

Your new team - Research Computing Services
Research Computing Services (RCS) is a department within Business Services. RCS delivers the digital research infrastructure and services for researchers at The University of Melbourne. RCS operate on-premise High-Performance Computing (HPC), Cloud Computing and General-Purpose Graphical Processing Unit (GPGPU) computational platforms. RCS operate over 20 PB of research data storage to enable data-driven research and collaboration and a range of data management services and provide a range of consultation services to support the development of custom computation and data management solutions. RCS also contributes to the national eResearch infrastructure initiative the ARDC's Nectar Research Cloud and facilitate access to Australia's national supercomputer facility NCI.
