ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Criminal Law Solicitor to join our dedicated legal team in Sydney, New South Wales. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a diverse criminal law caseload, providing legal representation and strategic advice to clients from all walks of life. You’ll appear in courts regularly and play a vital role in defending rights and ensuring fair outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Advise and represent clients in a wide spectrum of criminal matters, including summary and indictable offences

Attend and advocate in Local, District, and higher courts as required

Prepare legal documents including bail applications, briefs, submissions, and court pleadings

Interview clients and witnesses, gather evidence, and instruct counsel as appropriate

Participate in negotiations with police prosecutors and DPP

Maintain accurate file management and uphold confidentiality at all times

Build strong client relationships founded on trust, empathy, and integrity

ABOUT YOU

Admitted to practise in NSW and hold a current unrestricted practising certificate

Minimum of 2 years PAE with substantial exposure to criminal matters

Confident courtroom advocate with sound legal judgment and ethical standards

Strong drafting and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail

Ability to manage a busy caseload and work under pressure
