A bit about the role

As a Senior Community Facilities Planner, you’ll lead the planning and coordination of vital community facility projects that support the needs of our growing and established communities.

Working closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders, you'll help shape the future of community infrastructure through strategic planning, project development, and capital works pipeline progression.

This role offers a great mix of planning, project management, and stakeholder engagement, including some involvement with external partners on funding and grant activities. You'll be part of a supportive and collaborative team that values innovative thinking and positive community outcomes.

What you’ll deliver

  • Provide leadership and act as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders to collaboratively plan and deliver integrated community facilities.
  • Lead and record projects in the Project Management system and monitor through to the end of the Plan stage, including preparation of new Capital Works submissions.
  • Respond to the social and service requirements of the City of Casey community through the planning for community facilities.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge and strategic understanding of Casey’s community and their needs now and into the future.
  • Promote and advocate for innovative and alternative community facility partnerships, delivery and funding models.
  • Maintain a high level of understanding of Council’s community facilities and the services provided within them.

What you’ll bring

  • A degree or diploma with limited experience, or lesser qualifications with relevant skills, or equivalent experience and skills aligned to the role requirements.
  • Proven experience in project management and understanding of project management methodologies.
  • Experience in and/or extensive understanding of community facility planning and/or development.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
