About The Role

As a Design Engineer – Electrical, you will be expected to lead product development projects for new electrical oven platforms from concept to launch. You will drive design innovation, cost efficiency, and product quality, while navigating cross-functional challenges across global teams. Success in this role requires technical excellence, end-to-end ownership, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and refine complex electrical components and systems, such as wire harnesses, power boards, heating elements, door locks, induction coils, and switches. Ensure robust integration into the manufacturing process with full lifecycle traceability.

Lead the development and integration of mechanical subassemblies supporting electrical systems, ensuring structural integrity, and production feasibility.

Work with international engineering teams to align component designs and system-level functionality, while adhering to platform strategy, cost targets, and compliance standards.

Take full technical ownership of assigned components and subsystems, including performance benchmarking, functional validation, root cause analysis, and field issue resolution.

Identify and implement design improvements that drive direct material (DM) and direct labor (DL) cost reduction while also enhancing product quality and reducing warranty claims.

Implement KAIZEN initiatives for product quality and performance, reducing warranty claims and service calls.

Create and manage complex 3D CAD models and 2D drawings in CATIA.

Maintain documentation and lifecycle traceability using Teamcenter.

Participate in preparing and editing of configuration files for home appliance controller software.

Participate in configuring global electronics for use in local products.

Contribute and, on demand, drive SW inspection/SW walkthrough meeting in order to ensure SW quality is at the state-of-art.

Responsible for R&D development, serialization and configuration of Wi-Fi-connected UI controllers to enable reliable network integration and system functionality.

Working knowledge of SAP is required for BOM creation, component release, production alignment, raising purchase request, and receipting them.

Plan and execute prototyping, testing, and validation activities, from lab evaluation to pilot builds, ensuring full product readiness for launch.

Collaborate with Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, and Supply Chain to drive timely resolution of design, cost, and manufacturability issues.

Manage and approve Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), ensuring proper documentation and impact assessments are completed through PLM and ERP systems.

Conduct and lead DFMEA sessions to identify potential design risks and develop mitigation strategies before production launch using risk registers, and deliverable tracking across multiple development cycles.

Support manufacturing teams during the ramp-up of new models, ensuring electrical systems meet quality, safety, and operational excellence benchmarks.

Responsible for Purchased Part approval ( PPAP ) process for all new introduced parts with the coordination of the related technical team members.

Required Skills & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechatronics engineering discipline.

1+ years of hands-on experience in electrical product development within major home appliances / white goods sector.

Proven expertise with Teamcenter PLM and SAP ERP.

Proficient in CATIA V5 3D CAD software.

Strong understanding of electrical system design, compliance standards (IEC, UL, etc.), and safety considerations.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive results under tight timelines, and manage complexity.

Experience with product validation, production trials, and design-for-manufacturing principles.

Sound knowledge of electronics, schematics, programming & scripting.

Experience with Wi-Fi connected home appliances/devices.
