Our Client Shakti Constructions is a specialist in structural steel and metalwork fabrication, servicing the building, mining, and construction industries since 2010. In 2021, we added a dedicated fabrication workshop equipped with modern machining capabilities to deliver steel processing, customized fabrication, mechanical design & drafting.

Position Summary

We seek a qualified Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 1 year of experience to plan, design, oversee, commission, operate, and maintain mechanical and process plant installations in our fabrication facility.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Specification Development:

Create mechanical equipment, components, plant systems and layouts for structural steel fabrication.

Develop manufacturing specifications, materials lists, piping schematics, capacity planning, and workflow optimization

Workforce & Process Optimization:

Analyse facility layout, production schedules, operational data, and costs to improve workforce and equipment efficiency

Installation, Commissioning & Quality Assurance:

Manage the erection, commissioning, and operational handover of mechanical systems.

Establish and enforce standards and policies for installation, testing, inspection, quality control, and maintenance in line with engineering & safety regulations.

Inspection & Maintenance Coordination:

Regularly inspect plant and machinery to ensure optimal performance.

Direct maintenance planning, coordinate surveys, and manage periodic maintenance schedules.

Project Management & Coordination:

Organize and oversee project labour, material procurement, and equipment delivery.

Collaborate with Steel Fabrication, Mechanical Design, Structural Engineering, and drafting teams to ensure seamless integration.

Selection Criteria

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 1 year of relevant mechanical engineering experience (fabrication, plant installation, commissioning).

Proficiency in mechanical design tools (e.g., CAD) and capacity to develop detailed system layouts.

Strong project coordination and staff supervision skills.

Familiarity with safety regulations and fracture toughness for inspection and quality systems.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills across multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
