A great opportunity has come to fruition to join a reputable Govt organisation responsible for construction & maintenance in Gladstone. This is a temporary contract role providing a great steppingstone to an employer of choice, with a strong pipeline of work ahead.

Your new role

You will join a team of supervisors responsible for the supervision of Govt maintenance & capital works projects across Central QLD. Projects will predominantly be across commercial buildings for schools, ambulances, fire stations etc.
Duties will vary and could range from supervising contractors for renovation works up to $1M, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and toilets. From inspection of buildings for condition assessment and quotes to working closely with the Foreman and assisting with WH&S requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this role, you must have previous experience working in either construction or maintenance, ideally in a similar capacity. Whether you have completed inspections of sites to organise maintenance works or supervised projects, either would be good. Strong computer skills are essential, along with strong leadership and communication skills. A QBCC Site Supervisors Licence and blue card (working with children) would be well regarded, but not essential.

What you'll get in return

A competitive hourly casual rate of $61.61 per hour + Super, along with a high probability of a contract extension. While the initial contract period will be short, it is possible this could go long term, even permanent if you want it to.
